Its all about adding value. There are many voices in the world, each adamantly pleading for attention, making promises, demanding to be heard. With so many choices, you need to listen to the voices that interest you. Or that you feel are of worth. Or, as a great mentor. Maxwell puts it, adds value to you. Life is often described as a journey, but what kind of journey can it be? Does it have to be a trip down to the corner grocery store? A quick trip to pick up a few necessities? Or can it be a meandering visit to your local library, searchingly wandering through the stacks, pausing to browse through a volume, reading a passage here and there to see if the topic has the right fit?
Or, have you ever traveled on a bus? Its a different experience than flying. Of course the seats are wider, more leg room, but also there is more of the feel of the wanderer, more opportunity to make connections, to listen, to learn. And of course, watching the mile roll by, seeing the fields, the homes, and the places of business, musing, and letting the imagination fill in the details. What do you want to learn? Here’s what I have to offer:
I get it. So who am I that you should hear my voice? Honestly, I’m just a guy. One perspective, a book, to be browsed and considered, marked up and then shelved for reference. I can bring some experience, a few insights, and hope. Perhaps I’m a bit further than you in the journey, maybe not as far, but certainly a fellow traveler.
I’ve experience both city and rural life. I have opinions about both. I’ve participated with my beautiful wife in raising six children, who have thus far blessed us with twenty three grandchildren. Believe me, there are life’s lessons learned from that experience! My career reads more like a travelogue than and history. I am part artist, part machinist, writer, trainer, and of late, personal and professional development coach. Quite eclectic wouldn’t you say?
So when you pull this volume down from the shelf, there is no telling what you’ll read, but one promise is sure, the intent is for it to be of value to you.
